Detergent, QAC and Mycotoxin Residues

QACs and DetergentS

These tests quantify the residues of ingredients used in dairy detergents and teat sanitisers on dairy farms, and are validated for use in both raw milk and a range of dairy products.

  • Quarternary Ammonium Compounds (QAC) including DDAC (Didecyldimethylammonium chloride), BAC (Benzalkonium chloride) 12, BAC 14, and BAC 16
  • Detergents:  A multi residue method capable of measuring non-ionic detergents.
  • NPE:  Quantifies nonylphenyl ethoxylates, an ingredient in detergents and teat sanitisers which has been widely used in the past, but is currently not acceptable in raw milk supplied to many dairy companies.

Aflatoxin M1

Aflatoxin M1 is one of a class of mycotoxins which are found in milk as a result of dairy cattle eating feed containing Aflatoxins. It is a very potent toxin, with potential to affect humans at a very low concentration.  Analytica’s methods have the ability to quantify Aflatoxin M1 in raw milk and dairy products to International requirements, making use of LC-MS/MS to deliver advantages over traditional ELISA techniques.

Raw milk
A representative sample of 50-100 mL of milk is required.  Please keep chilled if being delivered immediately, or freeze then delicer chilled.

Dairy products
An unopened sachet or consumer package is required, with details of batch and product description to be shown clearly on the outside.

Get Analysis Request Forms

Don’t forget to label each sample container with a unique name or code, matching the Sample Identification that you write on the Analysis Request Form. We will invoice you when we report your results.
