Landfill Gas Analysis (LFG2)

Quantitatively measures low and sub ppm levels of a range of VOCs (listed below). Can be used as a screening test for VOCs in landfill gas samples.

Analytes available: 1,3-butadiene, acetaldehyde, acetone, acetonitrile, acrylonitrile, ammonia, benzene, butanols (total), butanone, C3-alkylbenzenes (total), carbon disulfide, carbon tetrachloride, carbonyl sulfide, chlorobenzene, chloroethane, chloroform, dichloroethanes (total), dichloromethane, dimethyl disulfide, dimethyl sulfide + ethyl mercaptan, ethanol, ethylene dibromide, formaldehyde, heptanes (total), hexanes (total), hydrogen sulfide, methanol, methyl chloride, methyl isobutyl ketone, methyl mercaptan, monoterpenes (total), octanes (total), pentanes (total), propanols (total), styrene, tetrachloroethanes (total), tetrachloroethylene, toluene, trichloroethanes (total), trichloroethylene, vinyl chloride, xylenes + ethylbenzene (total)

 Methane and Hydrogen Sulphide (METHANE & H2S)

This targeted method measures methane and hydrogen sulphide concentrations using an external calibration standard mixture for greater accuracy.

Non-methane Organic Compounds (NMOC)

Specifically for non-methane organics for the typical landfill gases, namely toluene, xylenes, ethylbenzenes, and monoterpenes. It is intended to provide a more precise way of assessing a particular site by capturing everything that reacts with O2+ reagent ion and is reported as mg/m3 of hexane.

  • Reduced Sulfur Compounds (RSC): Hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan, carbonyl sulfide, dimethyl sulfide + ethyl mercaptan (total), carbon disulfide, dimethyl disulfide
  • Siloxanes: Trimethylsilanol, hexamethyldisiloxane, octamethyltrisiloxane, tetramethylsilane, octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane, decamethylcyclopentasiloxane, decamethyltetrasiloxane
  • Aldehydes: Formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, glutaraldehyde

Mass Scan

This is an untargeted approach that qualitatively/semi-quantitatively measures unknown compounds in the sample and attempts to identify them using our library database.
